The Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) is a cross-industry organization that delivers interoperability guidelines for a seamless connection between new digital media devices and content services. One of those standards is Universal Plug and Play (UPnP), defined by the UPnP Implementers Corp.
Overview
The server solution supports all common media formats that can be transmitted via HTTP or RTP. A possible transcoding function to support multiple receiving devices can be implemented. The low memory footprint and the unlimited extension possibilities make that SDK an easy to integrate and flexible solution.
The player is especially well suited for mobile devices. All mandatory audio and video formats as well as additional, upcoming standards such as MPEG Surround and HD-AAC are supported.
Availability
Fraunhofer offers server and client implementations that are fully DLNA and UPnP standard compliant and certified.
