Optimized AAC audio codec implementation from Fraunhofer

Fraunhofer IIS guarantees instant access to turnkey AAC (Advanced Audio Coding) solutions. A team at the Audio & Multimedia business field has specialized on the efficient implementation of AAC audio encoder and AAC audio decoder on various PC and DSP platforms as well as operating systems.

Our offering includes implementations for the AAC format for various compiler tool chains, including:

  • all ARM-based processors
  • all MIPS-based processors
  • Analog Devices Blackfin
  • Texas Instruments TMS320C64x, TMS320C67x
  • PowerPC processors
  • Starcore, Texas Instruments TMS320C5x and Freescale (Motorola) Coldfire (only source code).

For a number of DSPs, Fraunhofer IIS offers audio codecs specifically optimized at assembler level for the target platform. Implementations for the following platforms are available:

  • Freescale (Motorola) 563xx*
  • Texas Instruments TMS320C67xx.
