Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits
A modern car provides access to an array of multimedia entertainment. Fraunhofer IIS offers a number of technologies that enable automobile manufacturers to realise impressive audio-visual systems for their increasingly demanding customers. Widely available audio and video codecs are just as much a part of this as forward-looking multimedia technologies such as lossless storage of music or the processing and reproduction of high quality surround sound at low bit rates.
Fraunhofer IIS provides advice on future technologies with relevance to the car industry and continues to develop solutions which are optimized specifically for use in automobiles. A recent example is SX Pro, which was conceived by Fraunhofer IIS to enable effective processing of stereo music for car speaker systems
