Manufacturers of games consoles and related software can enrich the gaming world with new audio technologies which provide users with great flexibility and enable them to experience the virtual world with even greater intensity. Fraunhofer IIS offers surround sound technologies whereby the user becomes the focal point of his gaming world and is completely submerged in the action. It is also possible to intervene directly in a scene and determine the position of individual sound sources in accordance with the user’s wishes. Examples of this flexibility include the adaption of the sound stage and loudspeaker arrangement.
