Fraunhofer IIS has readily available all necessary components for high-quality Internet radio and mobile audio streaming services for software and equipment manufacturers.

Our advantages:

High audio quality at lowest possible bit-rates, new services such as 5.1 surround to attract new audiences.

Internet radio server side:

Shoutcast Source to deliver high-quality low bit-rate Internet radio stream in stereo or even 5.1 surround. The Fraunhofer Shoutcast Source features: upmix to 5.1 surround if necessary, high-quality real-time encoding of HE-AAC and MPEG Surround/mp3Surround, creation of Shoutcast server compatible bit-stream.

Internet radio receiver side:

Optimized audio decoder for PC and embedded platforms (e.g. HE-AACv2, MPEG Surround and mp3 Suround for ARM powered devices such as Android mobile phones), browser plug-ins (MPEG Surround, mp3 Surround).

Mobile audio streaming:

Real-time encoder for 3GP/PSS server to deliver high-quality low bit-rate mobile audio streaming in stereo or even 5.1 surround. The encoder features: upmix to 5.1 surround if necessary, high-quality real-time encoding of HE-AACv2, output of 3GPP/PSS compatible bit-stream.
