3D and Multiview Systems
3D movies allow a more immersive impression than 2D. You can have the feeling to be on set. With the higher penetration of 3D screens and displays at home or at cinema, the requests for better and simpler capturing and processing systems for 3D rise.
The department moving picture technologies analyses and develops new methods for capturing of 3D scenes. This is not limited to stereoscopic capturing algorithms but includes also total capturing of 3D data of a scene. This allows to define the viewing point for the cameras at a later stage. In addition algorithms will be developed for rendering and adaptation of scenes to different output devices [easyDCP Software Suite ].
