HDR Imaging

Image sensors nowadays have a very high resolution, whereas most sensors lack in dynamic range. Only professional cameras like the Cinema camera ARRI D21   have taken more care on this. But as displays have more and more capabilities to show images with high contrast range also the cameras and workflows have to follow.

The department moving picture technologies develops new sensor – and system concepts for capturing of high dynamic range images, invents new data compression schemes and works on new tonemapping algorithms for different display devices.
