Lightfield Technologies
In contrast to traditional cameras, which generate an image with defined depth of field, is it possible with systems based on lightfield technologies to capture the complete lightfield, means also light intensity, dispersion and direction of the light. This can be achieved by a plenoptic camera or a camera with microlens array. Based on this theory new directions of art work will be opened. For example the depth of sharpness can be defined afterwards in the postproduction or informations about the distance between camera and scene objects can be calculated. A First prototype system will be demonstrated at the IBC 2011.
