JPEG 2000 coding
The Fraunhofer JPEG 2000 software plug-in for eyeon Fusion offers JPEG 2000 coding for artists and coding experts alike. The plug-in consists of a loader and a saver enabling new interactive scalable workflows to access, process and generate JPEG 2000 codestream files. Users are able to interactively access JPEG 2000 inherent scalability features like different resolution levels or quality layers whenever needed. Transferring and processing only the codestream portions needed, increases effectiveness and efficiency.
Artists can choose ready-made parameter presets from a menu to create DCI compliant image codestreams without having to cope with innumerable coding parameters.
DCI compliant JPEG 2000 encoding becomes as simple as clicking a button. Furthermore, artists have a convenient and intuitive way of accessing all relevant coding parameters, completely integrated in the look and feel of a well known graphical user interface. This gives them the freedom to explore coding parameters in a familiar tool.
On top of that, coding experts can use external switch files to extensively control the encoding process. Fraunhofer‘s JPEG 2000 plug-in is a tool with various features and is easy to use in order to handle a complex coding scheme.
In most of the cases it is hard work to retrace the process steps for image data, therefore standardized set-ups for color space transformation usually cannot be used for input data. According to the DCI specifications, however, this transformation is necessary to get input data in an X’Y’Z’ color space.
With this new feature it is possible to use colour tables within Digital Fusion, which are described by a set-up file. This file includes as many colour tables as you like. Starting Digital Fusion all these assets are available. The user can easily adopt the necessary values to the current workflow.
