Miniaturized Camera Systems That Help Create New Angles

Creating exciting new camera angles that involve the viewer even more entails moving the camera closer to where the action happens. Consequently, the camera used needs to be small, robust and multifunctional while meeting the standards set by today's HDTV productions. Against this backdrop, Fraunhofer IIS is conducting important research and development work with a view to implementing even smaller, higher-performance camera systems. The focus of this work is on electronics development and image enhancement.

Fraunhofer IIS has been successfully collaborating with well-established partners for many years and is currently developing the third generation of miniaturized camera systems for a range of applications.

    Measuring only 44 mm x 44 mm x 87 mm, our micro camera is very compact for an HDTV camera. Designed for the film and television market, it provides outstanding picture quality thanks to its 2/3" sensor and specially developed image editing software.

    The micro2 camera represents the next evolutionary step from the micro: it is based on a new sensor and uses improved image editing software for even better picture quality.

  • micro2 – DVB-T Camera

    The micro2 – DVB-T camera uses essentially the same technology as the micro2. In addition to the latter's features, however, it has a built-in DVB-T transmitter, which enables wireless transmission of full-resolution HD material.
