The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft furthers and conducts application oriented research on an internationally connected level as a direct utility for the economy and as a benefit for the society. To fulfil this aspiration, it’s our concern to use different networks effectively. These are on the one hand side research networks in cooperation with other research partners but above all networks with industrial associations and standardisation organisations to capture client needs and to transfer them close to the market into implementations.

    The Fraunhofer-Allianz Vision bundles the Fraunhofer-Know-how in the field of mechanical vision, image processing as well as optical measurement and inspection technology. The network cooperation allows us to see market requirements at an early stage and to tackle technological challenges together. The distinct concentration on applied research dominates the common aim to make recent developments applicable under industrial conditions

  • 3D Innovation Centre

    The Berlin 3D Innovation Center offers the whole cast of actors a platform and a pre-competitive environment where they can exchange views and opinions, build contacts, put their products and systems to the test and present them jointly to a diversity of target audiences. The ready availability of know-how covering the whole 3D systems chain will generate new synergies – in terms of product development, marketing and sales as well as market positioning and public relations.

Thanks to a world-wide network with different organisations, especially in the field of digital cinema and digital video production, the Fraunhofer IIS is able to offer developments for a completely digital media production and an internationally approved standardisation-Know-how for the implementation of digital video and audio technology. The Fraunhofer IIS works at the front line of the implementation for new technologies in cooperation with the following organisations:

We contribute decisively in the international standardisation inside the ISO and we lead the Digital Cinema Group within JPEG.
