UMIS
With UMIS® the user is offered acoustic and multimedia information correlating to his current position, his traveling direction and speed as well as his personal preferences and interests. The mobile system, as used in vehicles, permanently chooses from self-contained, autonomous reference objects as its source of information. At any time these information objects can be individually adapted, extended – even at runtime – as well as updated. What is more, the modular scalability of UMIS® allows a wide range of applications regarding both its areas of use and the based-on hardware. By means of automatic adaptation routines UMIS® operates without any user interaction. A purely acoustic operation which is coupled with the radio program and presented like traffic announcements is possible, for instance as a source of travel and tourism information.
