Personal Guiding System

Fairground Guide

At fairs the Fraunhofer IIS indoor navigation technology could lead the visitors accross fairground according to your wish and conception. The visitor is equipped with a personnel digitally Assistant (PDA) with a special PCMCIA card. The device assumes two different functions. On the one hand it leads the visitor through the fairground, on the other hand the PDA supplies the visitor with all relevant information at the booth (folders, product video, data sheets, contacts etc.). The operator of the positioning system can profit from visitor statistics and use them for marketing or for calculating the next fairground layout.

Airport Guide

A system which supports the check-in and -out of passengers is also conceivable at airports. From entering the airport area up to boarding the airplane, an electronic assistance system can support the passenger with orientation on the airport. At the same time it could supply all relevant information (time of departure, number of terminal, etc..).
