Wireless Communication According to the DECT Standard

DECT stands for Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunication.
DECT ™ is a trademark of ETSI.
ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute) invented DECT as a communication standard primarily for Europe in the 1.88 GHz band. Until now, more than 100 countries in the world have adopted the DECT standard. For regions where DECT is not permitted, we provide DECT-ISM, a version of the standard adapted to the 2.4 GHz ISM band. For USA and Canada, DECT 6.0 is available, a derivate of DECT for the 1.92 GHz band.
DECT is designed for both voice and data communication.

DECT Extension with Fraunhofer Hardware and Software

  • Antenna diversity also on the portable part (patented) for optimum reception even under difficult indoor conditions
  • Extended usable temperature range by using temperature compensation
  • Error-protected data transmission by means of CRC checking
  • Deterministic data communication with constant delay
  • Transmission power can be reduced to increase the system capacity, to improve acceptance and electro-magnetic compatibility and also to bring down power consumption
  • Synchronizable base stations for extended system capacity and availability
  • Digital audio conferencing with an optimal voice quality
