Battery Monitoring

An important parameter in battery-powered systems is the remaining capacity of the battery. Special circuits and systems measure the battery charge and discharge currents, providing the user with information on the remaining capacity. Ageing and state of health are also crucial for the performance and reliability of the device to be powered.
We design complete systems with a wide range of functionalities using our own or commercial ICs for battery monitoring.

  • Battery parameters such as SOC (state of charge), SOH (state of health) and SOF (state of function) are determined via current, voltage, temperature and resistance measurements.
  • A special software tool shows the computed values and results of the monitoring system on a laptop or PDA display.
  • We hold a patent for a special algorithm for very-low-power monitoring of batteries.
