Logistics
While the processes found in the multifaceted logistics sector are applied to a diversity of objects, they are also highly repetitive, which makes process optimization vital and difficult at the same time. Logistics processes revolve around two basic questions: "when?" and "where?". Tracking solutions geared to answering these questions can therefore help generate added value in a variety of areas.
Application examples:
Protection of goods, shipment tracking and tracing, asset tracking, container monitoring, autonomous vehicles, forklift tracking
Technologies:
AoA , GNSS , INS , RSSI , Cooperative Networks
Model projects:
- Aletheia - Supply chain integrity (www.zio.fraunhofer.de)
- AUTLOG - Production, logistics and tracking in the auto sector
- GAWALOK - Tracking of railroad cars
- OlogPat - Improved patient flow
- RELAG - Forklift tracking
- SMMART - Improved service parts logistics
