Many applications are designed to provide not positioning data as such but a reliable basis for decisions, controls and insights. It is therefore essential to be able to quickly detect specific events such as critical situations and provide users with relevant, useful information.
Many applications require the ability to determine whether particular self-locating objects are entering or leaving a specified area. The use of an environment model
makes it very easy for a location sensing application to generate a notification message which allows appropriate responses to be identified.
