Services We Offer
awiloc® test-bed and consortium
For the purposes of developing and testing new services and applications based on Fraunhofer IIS‘s wireless LAN positioning technology, we provide test-beds in several cities. The test-beds span entire city centers and cover several shopping malls, residential areas, public transportation access points, as well as industrial areas and office buildings. We will be happy to provide you with participation details.
awiloc® software licensing
Our flexible licensing options will allow you to use the awiloc® technology for wireless LAN positioning and incorporate it into your own products. To meet client-specific requirements for positioning in cellular networks in terms of accuracy, latency and area of use, we developed a variety of scalable algorithms which can be adapted to the characteristics of the intended environment. To allow a centralized positions management – independently of the positioning technology used – we developed a position server that fuses position data from various sources (e.g. WLAN, GSM, GPS or wireless sensor networks).
Reference data and recording suite
Reference data for wireless LAN positioning is already available for certain city centers. The reference database can be licensed through the partners of the awiloc® consortium. Our business partners are also able to collect their own reference data using the provided tools, like recording boxes, training suites, and processing software. This way our clients are able collect their own reference data and offer new positioning services for indoor and urban environments.
Environment modeling
Creating 3D models of local environments (e. g. neighborhoods, buildings, floors or rooms) enables a multitude of applications such as position visualization, routing, area monitoring and provision of maps or POI information. Models also make it possible to find logical coordinates such as room numbers. We provide tools for generating, importing and visualizing models as well as specially adapted positioning algorithms.
Customer-specific development and adaptation
Based on your requirements or the specifications created, we will develop tailored solutions that enable positioning as well as location-based, context-aware services and applications. Existing hardware and software solutions can be licensed as a basis for further development or to accelerate product introduction.
Consultancy, measurements and system design
We can support you in implementing or developing solutions for positioning and navigation in cellular networks. For instance, we will carry out simulations or measurements in the intended environment before working with you to create system designs for the planned products.
Evaluation kits
Using our evaluation kits, you can explore the capabilities of wireless LAN positioning in the intended environment and incorporate them into your systems on a trial basis.
Seminars and workshops
We offer seminars and workshops on positioning and the associated technologies. These events give you the opportunity to discuss the latest trends with our researchers and developers.
