awiloc® Wireless LAN Positioning Testbed
The testbed provides a fully functional platform for positioning in urban and indoor settings. In addition, it serves as a base for validation of new methods and planned workflows which can be tested under real-life conditions.
The Consortium
Since 2008 location-based services are jointly developed in an open consortium. In conjunction with its partners Fraunhofer IIS is working on a standard for positioning and location-based services for use in public spaces. The testbed receives input and support from users, manufacturers and service providers. Fraunhofer IIS heads the consortium, coordinates testbed activities and contributes the wireless LAN positioning technology.
All partners have the opportunity to become involved at an early stage so as to help develop and trial perfectly tailored technologies. For information on how to contribute to the wireless LAN positioning testbed send an e-mail.
Applications under Test
Various applications are currently being implemented in the testbed and will subsequently be made available by the partners.
