awiloc® Wireless LAN Positioning Testbed

For the development and evaluation of real application Fraunhofer IIS has testbeds in several cities all over Germany (e.g. in Nuremberg). These provide a fully functional platform for positioning in urban and indoor settings which serves as a base for a fast development of location-based services.

Fraunhofer IIS’s testbeds are jointly used in an open consortium. All partners have the opportunity to develop and trial new technologies and applications. Therefore commercially available reference data as well as free reference data is available in the consortium. Users, manufacturers and research partners can jointly initiate new projects and cooperations. Therefore frequent meetings among the partners are arranged.

The consortium is open for companies, users and research facilities. There is a range of ways to join in suiting your individual agenda. Modalities of participation are graded regarding rights of access and action inside the consortium.
