Medical Image Processing

The main focus of the group "medical image processing" is on research and development of image analysis procedures. These procedures are intended to support doctors' diagnoses (Computer Assisted Diagnosis, CAD), computer-based pre-cancerous diagnoses, probes and the documentation of therapy.

Images of cells (blood, sputum) taken via microscope and endoscope help to diagnose tumors in tissue samples. Procedures for the processing of image sequences, such as motion analysis of vocal fold vibrations or tumor segmentation and measurement in radiological images, also belong in this field.
