Combined surface and shape verification of machined cast parts
CapaCam is a system that provides the fully automated optical inspection of cast parts' machined surfaces. Components in automotive and mechanical engineering are subject to highest demands in quality. Therefore, a test coverage of 100% is mandatory. Often this parts feature complex structures and show defects that are small and difficult to dectect. Optical inspection in series production by human testers is subjective, error-prone, time-consuming and thus expensive. The CapaCam system was developed to reliably detect even the smallest surface defects like blow holes, scratches, bumps, stains, or misshaped edges during production.
