Optical inspection and 3D verification of transparent tubes
High-speed optical inspection of transparent tubes with a constant perspective is one of the challenging tasks in image processing. Using a dedicated optical system, a matched lighting system, and five circular aligned cameras, PentaCam is able to inspect and verify curved transparent tubes like e.g. glass tubes in real-time.
The PentaCam systems uses the simultaneous images of five circular aligned cameras around the transparent test object. Each camera sees a defect from a different view. Using computed tomography, each defect can be depicted in 3D.
A powerful analysing software verifies roundness and diameter of glass tubes, detects defects on the outer or inner surfaces at feeding speeds of 6m/min.
