Tailor-made solutions are the result of the close cooperation of experts in the fields of sensor technology, image processing and computed tomography.
New types of line sensors and area array sensors have contributed decisively to the implementation of new systems for fast X-ray scanners and high resolution tomosynthesis systems for the 3D analysis of electronic components.
The prototype of an industrial computed tomography system at the Robert Bosch GmbH, Stuttgart completed in 2000 is currently the fastest CT system available anywhere. The ongoing objective in the area of computed tomography is the reduction of the reconstruction times from presently a few minutes to well below one minute.
New algorithms were developed in the field of the automatic detection of faults in X-ray images performing a large variety of tasks, e.g. the quality control of food stuffs with regard to contaminations, function tests of solder joints on circuit boards or the inspection of light metal cast parts with respect to structural defects or porosities.
