Image Processing and Medical Technology — Requirements and Qualifications
Research and development in the area image processing is focused on new solutions for the knowledge and computer-based analysis of images to not only advance medicinal diagnostics and therapy, but also find additional applications for industrial production inspection. The area medical technology is focused on miniaturized, intelligent sensor systems for the acquisition of key vital parameters in home or mobile patient care as well as for monitoring rescue and disaster control teams. The transmission of the measured data and its algorithmic real-time analysis are of crucial importance.
The competencies of the Image Processing and Medical Technology department are in the following areas:
- System design and development of optical test equipment
- complex and real-time capable image and signal processing for event detection
- miniaturized sensor and communication systems for vital parameter acquisition and patient care
We offer solutions in the following areas:
- Fully automated inspection of complex surfaces, structures and drill holes
- Knowledge-based image analysis for computer-assisted diagnosis of cells and tissues
- Complete system solutions for (mobile) remote patient care
- Development of customized sensor technology components and systems
Requirement Profile
Preferred candidates possess a Master’s degree in electrical engineering (medical engineering), computer science, mathematics or physics. Profound knowledge in the areas digital image processing, (medical) signal processing and/or pattern recognition is essential. Candidates must have sophisticated knowledge in object-oriented software engineering and development tools like Visual Studio. Depending on the field of activity, experience in analog and digital circuit design as well as a strong programming background in C and C++ is crucial.
