The Fraunhofer Institute for Digital Media Technology IDMT in Ilmenau (Thuringia) offers applied research in digital audio-visual systems. It develops solutions for virtual acoustics for the home entertainment sector and professional markets (e.g. IOSONO® wave field synthesis technology) and software technology for analyzing multimedia meta data as well as audio-visual applications for medical technology.
