MPEG Surround provides high-quality surround sound for ISDB-Tmm/Tsb
The forthcoming ISDB-Tmm/Tsb Multimedia Broadcast System for Mobile-TV, VoD, Digital Radio and music services in Japan is scheduled for full-scale commercial launch in 2012. The ARIB specification defines the HE-AACv2 audio codec for stereo delivery and includes MPEG Surround for the optional delivery of surround sound. The ISO standard MPEG Surround delivers an easily accessible high-quality surround sound experience to the consumer that is also cost-efficient to broadcasters and mobile operators since it only requires stereo bit-rates. In addition, the surround programs can be enjoyed via stereo receivers in excellent stereo quality meaning there is no need to simulcast stereo and multi-channel programs. MPEG Surround can be enjoyed on various types of receiving devices, including cars with crystal clear surround sound and on mobile terminals thanks to the virtual surround mode enabling 5.1 sound on conventional stereo headphones. At InterBEE, Fraunhofer IIS presents a reference MPEG Surround Internet radio implementation on the TI platform commonly used in AVRs and other living room devices. Optimized MPEG Surround implementations for TI DSPs and the complete Shoutcast broadcaster solution are available for licensing from Fraunhofer IIS.

FlashBOX - On-board Rekorder for Digital Cinema, 3D and HDTV
FlashBox records and displays uncompressed and compressed HD sequences in YCbCr422 or RGB 444 or Dual Stream YCbCr. Its compact size of 175 x 115 x 74 mm and its light-weight of 1500 gramms makes it dockable to any camera or camera dolly. FlashBox records on SSD cartridges. Depending which mode is selected it can operate with two cartridges for Dual HD-SDI or with one for recording via Single Link HD-SDI. The cartridges can be connected to a server or PC for download of the takes by USB or SATA adapter. The power consumption is ca. 20 Watt so that the FlashBox can be feeded by the camera power supply.

micro2 POV Camera
The new high definition multiformat point-of-view camera micro2 includes the latest 2/3´´ CMOS sensor technology, embedded image processing and audio support. This tiny camera with a built-in H.264 compression gives the user the flexibility to choose between a standardized ASI output and an uncompressed HD-SDI output. The small size, the low power dissipation and the rugged design make this all-in-one camera suitable for all kinds of point-of-view, 3D, panoramic and multiview applications.
