Energie Campus Nürnberg

Committed to realizing the vision of a sustainable energy supply based on renewable energy, Energie Campus Nürnberg (EnCN) is a research platform that was founded for the purpose of developing and demonstrating a closed renewable energy chain. Cooperating in joint research, the initiative’s heavyweight partners – Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, Georg Simon Ohm University of Applied Sciences Nuremberg, the Fraunhofer Institutes for Integrated Circuits, for Integrated Systems and Device Technology, and for Building Physics, as well as the Bavarian Center for Applied Energy Research (ZAE Bayern) – will model two complete, system-independent value chains:

  • Energy technology – everything from generation, conversion, storage, and distribution to consumption.
  • Innovation – from basic research and applied solution methodologies to the finished product.
