Local Energy Management

Local Energy Management

Better, more efficient use of energy can be achieved not only via smart grids, but also by means of local measures. But it is not enough simply to adapt existing technologies and components from the consumer sector, as its distribution structures and reliability requirements are completely different.

With suitable energy flow management systems, it is possible to reduce and defer consumption, make optimum use of electricity generated from renewables, and target the use of combined heat and power plants for power generation.

For instance, lighting and air conditioning systems, heat pumps, and other major consumers of electricity in buildings can be operated at times when supply is plentiful. There are also a wide range of methods for improving efficiency and deferring power consumption in manufacturing.
