When it comes to sorting materials, conventional grayscale cameras quickly reach their limits and custom multispectral camera systems are expensive. Our process, on the other hand, offers cost-effective multispectral imaging that can be tailored to your needs. Our technology is based on a conventional camera system coupled with various multispectral LED light sources. First, the problem at hand is evaluated in detail, necessary color channels or other specifics are determined and the corresponding components selected.
With this approach, we can ensure that the solution process includes only the essential elements and technologies and that a lid is kept on costs.

Multispectral color sorting: Less is more

  • Reduction of costs and effort through the use of standard components, e.g. greyscale camera, filter
  • Preliminary determination of the concrete approach by individually selecting the color channels with the help of appropriate filters, LEDs, etc.
  • Excellent system performance (spatial resolution, color sensitivity, dynamic range)
  • Special user-friendly software for image registration and fusion as well as for controlling the camera / light sources
  • Simple expansion and variations possible: Different wavelengths, including in the SWIR and IR ranges

The system will work for both reflected and transmitted light scenarios (e.g. to determine the fat or sugar content of foodstuffs). Sequentially recording the material on a conveyor belt at a high frame rate enables high throughput and makes the system design suitable for inline applications as well.

Areas of application for multispectral imaging technology

  • Sorting of material flows (food, grain) by color
  • Surface inspection
  • Monitoring / material testing

By precisely selecting components and determining the specifics in advance, we guarantee you a cost-effective and flexible solution. Would your application benefit from custom, cost-efficient multispectral imaging?
