PIDA (Process integrated Defect Analysis)

For the inspection of safety components such as wheels and chassis parts the technology called Automatic Defect Recognition (ADR) has replaced the visual evaluation by qualified inspection personnel. With the aid of the solution developed by EZRT, X-ray image data, e.g. of cast parts can be inspected with respect to contained defects. Here it is necessary to decide whether the quality of the cast part is sufficient compared with the quality prescription or if it has to be declared waste. The system “PIDA” (Process Integrated Defect Analysis) unites fast volume data reconstruction (in a few seconds) with a 3D volume evaluation.

Requirements and availability

  • In case of certain X-ray components (on request) available at short notice
  • Technical minimum requirement: MS Windows 7, 2 GB RAM
  • Technical minimum requirement of the reconstruction PCs: MS Windows 7, 64 GB RAM, for reducing the computing time we recommend to equip every reconstruction PC with a CUDA compatible graphics card (specification on request)
