Girls’ Day is a regular event held on the fourth Thursday of March or April, and Fraunhofer IIS invites the daughters, granddaughters, nieces, and goddaughters of staff to attend. At the event, the girls learn about the types of jobs that exist in the world of engineering and can be an “engineer for a day”.
What can you actually do with physics and engineering sciences? In the “Girls and Engineering”/“Young People and Engineering” internship, you will find out about jobs where these subjects play an important role. You can also take part in experiments at the university and at the two Fraunhofer Institutes in Erlangen.

JuniorAkademie Bayern (Junior Academy Bavaria) is open to dedicated, highly talented pupils with a thirst for knowledge and a diverse range of interests. The pupils must be attending year 8 or 9 at a Gymnasium or Realschule in Bavaria.
The next academy will be held in the 2017 summer break.
We have built up very close partnerships with a number of secondary schools in the region. As a rule, however, our programs are also open to pupils from other schools. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
