Girls' Day

Girls’ Day is a regular event held on the fourth Thursday of March or April, and Fraunhofer IIS invites the daughters, granddaughters, nieces, and goddaughters of staff to attend. At the event, the girls learn about the types of jobs that exist in the world of engineering and can be an “engineer for a day”.

The course participants came up with interview questions and filmed all of the footage themselves using two video cameras. Videos 1 and 2 were filmed in front of a green screen. This technique allows different images to be placed in the background by deleting everything that is green. 

1. The FitnessSHIRT from Fraunhofer IIS contains numerous sensors and can tell you whether your grandmother is fit and well.
2. Nadine Lang studied physics because her physics teacher took her to the university and she was really liked what she saw.
3. The Girls’ Day participants talk about why they think it’s good to learn about engineering and other typically male-dominated professions.
