Course »Ultra-Low-Power-Design«
The "Ultra-Low-Power Design" course teaches practical methods for developing analog, digital, and wireless systems with minimal power consumption - for example, for devices that run for years on a single button cell battery.
Participants will learn low-power design techniques such as sub-threshold operation, the gm/ID approach, and pulse operation, and apply them to applications such as sensor front-ends, signal filters, or microampere radio receivers.
The course also covers energy-efficient wireless systems as well as strategies for synchronization, sporadic transmission, and maximizing operating time. Supplemented by hands-on exercises, participants gain a deep understanding of the requirements, challenges, and solutions in ultra-low-power circuit and system design.
Target audience
- Developers of analog and digital ICs who wish to design circuits with extremely low power consumption
- Engineers working in the fields of wireless systems, sensor electronics, or embedded hardware
- Developers working on battery-powered or energy-efficient devices such as IoT nodes, wearables, and long-life sensor systems
- Researchers and engineers interested in advanced design methods for the low-power domain, such as sub-threshold operation and the gm/ID design approach
