During your first time with us at Fraunhofer IIS, we support you with the help of various measures to make your onboarding as smooth as possible. In addition to technical supervisor, you will also have a mentor who will introduce you to the institute, your colleagues and important contacts at the institute. He / she will also familiarize you with the customs at the institute and provide you with advice and assistance. In addition, we accompany you with regular feedback discussions and you get a good overview of the Fraunhofer IIS through introductory events.
Almost all colleagues are currently working from home. The onboarding of new employees therefore mainly takes place virtually. Our personnel development department has developed a comprehensive concept for this. This means that structured training is possible even when you are working from home.
Through this, you are well prepared for your job at Fraunhofer and will achieve technological breakthroughs together with us in no time.
We would like to give our employees the opportunity, if possible, to organize their work flexibly. Because we are convinced: You can only use your talents and creativity to the full if you are in a balanced life situation.
In consultation with the respective team, attendance and, if necessary, core working times are determined individually. Work and private life can thus be brought into harmony with one another and working hours can be adapted to your own "internal clock".
Most of our employees are technically equipped so that they can work from any location. We want to encourage creative and quiet work outside of the office or laboratory, for example at our research campus in Waischenfeld (https://www.iis.fraunhofer.de/de/profil/standorte/forschungscampus-waischenfeld.html). Nothing stands in the way of a day in the home office.
The flexible working hours also apply to our student employees. You can change your working days from semester to semester. During the semester break, some increase their hours, but reduce them during the examination period. This is an ideal way to combine a job with us during your studies.
