IC – Supply Chain

Low-threshold access to chips in small volumes

With the IC - Supply Chain pillar, we at BCDC are closing the gap from design to the finished chip. To achieve this, we rely on low-threshold access to modern semiconductor technologies.

We have set ourselves the goal of enabling the production of new and innovative design solutions in a wide range of semiconductor technologies for industrial and academic customers. We also want to support key Bavarian industries in realizing their chip production in small volumes and provide them with access to the latest semiconductor technologies.

We are aimed in particular at start-ups and SMEs, design houses, universities and research institutions that have a need for prototypes, small and medium volumes, special applications or support in the ramp-up phase.

By working closely with our premium partners at semiconductor foundries, our customers benefit in many ways. We offer them technical customer support based on our many years of project experience. We support them in selecting the right technology, provide them with process design kits and design flows and check the layout according to the design rules. We also ensure a smooth supply chain. In doing so, we maintain our independence from manufacturers.

Our value proposition includes a support interface to semiconductor manufacturers, which includes layout reviews, the tape-out process, multi-project wafer runs and the provision of full-mask sets (engineering run). We also provide support in the areas of test and packaging as well as supply chain management.
