SINOPES: Strengthening interregional networks to optimize production efficiency through the use of sensor technology and process monitoring

Manufacturing processes in all branches of industry can benefit greatly from the use of state-of-the-art inline sensor and process monitoring technologies. However, knowledge and expertise in these areas is universally available, especially not in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Large companies have their own departments for research, development, and technological innovation. SMEs need to rely on external expertise to integrate these latest innovative approaches and solutions.

The overall goal of the SINOPES project is therefore to establish a network of research institutions, industrial clusters and companies. In this network, all participants should learn from each other. A jointly developed knowledge base regarding potentially applicable solutions and the external partners potentially available for support will enable further individual use of sensor technology and process monitoring.

This project focuses in particular on the areas of non-destructive testing (NDT) and process analytical technologies (PAT). Methods in these areas are to be presented and made accessible to companies in the program area so that they can use them for optimizing their production processes and to manufacture more efficiently.

The project is co-financed by the European Union as part of the Interreg Bavaria-Austria program
