Award with the “Best Paper Award“

Our paper “Enabling distributed inference of large neural networks on resource constrained edge devices using ad hoc networks” was awarded the “Best Paper Award” among a hundred scientific studies presented at the DCAI Conference.

The paper is about the novel network concept “randle”, which can be used as a basis for transmitting distributed inferences to edge devices.

When the fascination of space comes to life

For 15 years, Rainer Wansch and his team have been researching the idea of an on-board processor that can be controlled from Earth when it’s aboard a satellite orbiting the globe. Now the FOBP has arrived in space.

But what is behind this big project? Read here the backstory of how a team of researchers managed to launch the FOBP into space against all odds.

Keeping up with neuromorphic hardware

Neuromorphic hardware is inspired by the functioning of the human brain and is therefore considered a key element for cutting-edge applications of artificial intelligence.

In a chapter of the Bitkom whitepaper "Future Computing", in which we participated, the topic of neuromorphic computing is examined from various perspectives, and the current state of research is summarized succinctly.

5G campus networks in healthcare

As part of the project Health5G, we worked with the participating partners to develop a white paper on the use of video telemedicine in hospitals.

It shows how 5G can support specific healthcare applications and contains recommendations for the installation of 5G campus networks in hospitals.
