Businesses with their own campus network benefit from a customized 5G network with guaranteed bandwidth, low latency and high reliability. Our mobile campus network provides companies with a simple and cost-effective way to find out in advance whether setting up and operating their own 5G campus network is worthwhile.

How long does the setup take from arrival to functioning campus network?

The mobile campus network is designed to be set up quickly and easily. In principle, all you have to do is transport it to the desired location, unpack it and turn it on. After five minutes, the system is ready and you can connect to the network.

Where has the mobile campus network already been deployed?

So far, it has been used in various projects where a 5G campus network was needed temporarily. For example, with “5G Health” in Berlin or the “For5G – Digital Twin” project. Another company uses a variant for developing and testing its products. In addition, we have installed another setup at our own institute in Erlangen: here, we’re currently testing the compatibility and performance of various industrial and commercial 5G devices such as modems, routers and smartphones.

What kind of customers are interested in using the mobile campus network?

Essentially, it appeals to anyone looking to test the possibilities and limits of 5G campus networks without having to procure their own system. If they want to try out a 5G campus network – on their own premises – to go ahead and implement use cases, gather experience and validate the benefits, we can provide them with the right solution.

What are the system’s limitations in terms of technology and applications?

Because we value a compact solution that can be installed quickly, the mobile campus network is not designed for maximum coverage. Nevertheless, it can still achieve a coverage range of a few hundred meters, depending on the conditions on-site. In other words, the system isn’t designed to cover large industrial parks or an entire airport; as already mentioned, the focus is on trying things out in an uncomplicated way.
